Garden

Our family garden has been a big commitment and a big part of our lives over the past ten years or so. Ostensibly for the purpose of eating healthier with our own home-grown organic fruits and vegetables, it has also served to nourish our spirits as well as our bodies. Especially during the covid lockdown, it became an outdoor venue where we could practice some semblance of social distancing even as we prepared and cooked meals on our outdoor grill with the vegetables often coming straight from the garden. With each family assigned their own table, we were able to get through the worst part of the pandemic free of the disease. Paulina’s sister, Christine Feehrey, has been involved in the garden from the get go. She also raises and sells cut flowers at the local farmers’ market, and sometimes sells surplus vegetables as well. The garden has been. huge commitment in time and energy, but it has paid large dividends.
